Will It Work?? See What Chelsea Are Planning To Give Hazard To Make Him Stay

New Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has promised to make forward, Eden Hazard the new captain of the club in an effort to keep him at Stamford Bridge.

Real Madrid have seen Hazard as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo at the Bernabeu after the Portuguese superstar moved to Juventus.

The Blues are demanding as much as £200m for Hazard even though the Belgian who only has two years left on his contract had rejected a new deal.

Sarri had earlier said that he will meet the player face to face when he returns to the club from his World Cup holiday.

But Sun, UK, is reporting that Sarri is desperate to work with Hazard next season and has vowed to make him the captain in an effort to keep him.

The Blues are likely to need a new captain next season with Gary Cahill’s place at the club under threat should they land £44m-rated Juve defender, Daniele Rugani.

Sarri is mulling over other potential captain options, such as Cesc Fabregas and Cesar Azpilicueta, but will give Hazard the role to act as the extra motivation he needs to reject a move to Real Madrid.

‘Cristiano Ronaldo Hype Not Good For Juventus’- Manager Allegri

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is wary of the hype surrounding the club since Cristiano Ronaldo moved to the club.

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo, 33, completed a €100 million (£89m/$116m) transfer from Real Madrid to Juventus earlier this month with many excited by his arrival.

The Portuguese star won four Champions League titles at the Liga club and joins the Turin giants hoping to win a European title in a third major league, following previous success at Manchester United and with Real Madrid.

But Allegri refused to be carried away by the signing of Ronaldo and warned it may be even harder for Juventus to defend their league title.

Allegri

“Cristiano has lots of international experience and he will help us a lot, but we have to be careful,” he told reporters.

“There is too much euphoria around us and it’s not good. This year will be more difficult than others.

“Opponents will be more aggressive because we have won many games and now we have an excellent player like him.

“They will accept it and also, they will have more motivation. With Ronaldo, I spoke about how happy and enthusiastic I am about him coming here, there will be time to speak about football.”

Ronaldo will not feature in the International Champions Cup for Juventus, but it is thought he will be available for their Serie A opener against Chievo.

‘Please Don’t Leave!!!’- Barcelona Beg Lionel Messi As Possible Move To Italy Intensifies

Barcelona spokesman, Josep Vives, has pleaded with Lionel Messi to remain at the club.

According to Vives, he cannot imagine Messi leaving the Camp Nou, after Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid to join Juventus earlier this month.

Ronaldo had a €1billion release clause in his contract, but Madrid allowed him to join Juve for significantly less, once he asked to leave.

Messi signed a new deal with Barca in November, with a release clause worth €700m, that ties him to the club through the 2020/2021 season.

“I cannot imagine that situation in which Messi is not with us,” Vives told reporters on Thursday.

“I am already getting nervous because there have been many days without football [games]. We do not imagine this situation here.”

Earlier this week, Marco Tronchetti Provera, the CEO of Pirelli, one of Inter Milan’s main sponsors, suggested that Inter’s owners would consider a move for Messi in response to Ronaldo’s arrival in Serie A.

But Inter vice president, Javier Zanetti, laughed off that suggestion while speaking to Fox Sports Argentina.

It’s HAPPENING! Chelsea & Juventus Set To Agree Fee For This Highly Rated Striker (Photo)

Chelsea and Juventus are set to hold talks on Saturday in Nice as the Blues target moves for a number of the Serie A champions’ players.

Goal understands Chelsea CEO Marina Granovskaia will meet with Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici while Maurizio Sarri’s side prepare to face Inter in the International Champions Cup.

Sarri has targeted moves for a number of Juventus players due to his familiarity with Serie A, having already secured the arrival of Jorginho from Napoli.

A second bid of £45 million ($59m) was lodged for centre-back Daniele Rugani earlier in the week, and Chelsea are hopeful that these talks will allow a breakthrough to be made in their pursuit of the Italy international.

The Blues have already seen a £36m ($47m) bid rejected by the Bianconeri for Rugani but he remains Sarri’s primary defensive target with less than two weeks of the transfer window left to run in England.

Should Rugani prove unattainable, Chelsea will turn their attentions to his team-mate Mattia Caldara.

The 24-year-old is yet to make an appearance for Massimiliano Allegri’s side, having signed for Juve in January 2017 before being loaned back to Atalanta for 18 months in a bid to gain further experience.

Caldara has been linked with a move away already this summer, with AC Milan reportedly keen to bring him to San Siro in a deal that would potentially see Leonardo Bonucci move in the opposite direction.

Ronaldo Rejects Offer To Sign New Deal With Real Madrid (See Reasons)

– Cristiano Ronaldo has rejected an offer to sign a new deal with Real Madrid

– The 33-year-old led Los Blancos to their 13th Champions League title after beating Liverpool in Kiev

– He wants to earn as much as Lionel Messi and Neymar before extending his contract with the Spanish League giants

Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo has not changed his mind on dumping Real Madrid this summer over alleged breach on promise.

The 33-year-old became the first player to win five Champions League titles in the history of the competitions after leading the Galacticos to their 13th UCL triumph last month in Kiev.

Ronaldo claimed he was promised an improved contract by Madrid board after conquering Europe in 2017, but only offered a deal earlier this year, which led to the former Manchester United to stall on signing a new contract till the end of the season.

Ronaldo’s representative Jorge Mendes has met with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez and Jose Angel Sanchez on Tuesday over the issue but no conclusion has been reach.

Ronaldo was offered €25 million-a-year deal – increasing to €30 million-a-year depending on the performance of both Ronaldo the individual and Real as a team.

However, the deal is nowhere near the salaries of Neymar (€37 million) and Lionel Messi (€50 million) reasons the 33-year-old rejected the deal.

Madrid chiefs were said to have expressed their anger towards Ronaldo’s agents following his comments after their Champions League victory in Ukraine on Saturday, May 26.

The former Manchester United star referred to the Real in past tense during his remarks after the game.

Ronaldo has been impressive for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit – leading them to four Champions League wins in the last five years.

The striker, whose release clause stands at €1 billion has reportedly told his employers to allow him leave, and for the first time the Bernabeu hierarchy are receptive to the idea.

But it remains to be seen if the latest spat will end in a handshakea ceremony and a new deal – or whether Ronaldo will finally wave goodbye to the Spanish capital.

Naijaloaded previously reported that Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to leave the club this summer and make a return to Premier League side Manchester United.

Ronaldo has been superb for Los Blancos this season as he has helped the club qualify for the final of the Champions League where they will face Liverpool.

The 33-year-old Portugal international has scored 42 goals in 41 games, including 15 in the Champions League.

I Don’t Have Rift With Mikel, We Relate Well – Onazi Responds To Rumours

Super Eagles assistant captain, Ogenyi Onazi has dismissed reports he and the national team captain, John Mikel Obi are having a rift in camp ahead of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.

It was claimed that both stars are no longer on talking terms due to a fight for leadership and it’s distracting other players in camp.

Speaking with Complete Sports Nigeria in a chat, Onazi denied having any rift with Mikel.

“It’s ridiculous to read that I don’t take orders from him (Mikel),” Onazi told CSN. “He’s an outstanding individual and it hurts that this could be out there without verification.

“I relate well with Mikel, he is our captain and our leader. Thank you for trying to balance your reports.

“We all grew up together in Jos and he’s someone I have looked up to since I started my career. I get along with him and he has been helpful encouraging me after the criticism I received after the England game.”

Why Antonio Conte Turned Down Opportunity To Replace Zidane At Real Madrid

Real Madrid contacted Antonio Conte to become their new head coach, but he told them he intends to respect his contract with Chelsea, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The current European champions were keen on bringing the former Italy boss to the Santiago Bernabeu, and spoke to him about taking over from Zinedine Zidane, who resigned from the job days after winning a third successive Champions League title.

However, Conte turned them down for a number of reasons.

First, is that he intends to respect his contract with Chelsea.

Also, if Blues owner, Roman Abramovich is to fire him, they will need to give him €10m as pay-off.

Thirdly, Conte is said to be concerned about the work ethics of the Real Madrid squad and their focus on star names, as those would not suit his style.

BREAKING! English Premier League Clubs To Have Winter Breaks In February

Premier League clubs will have a winter break in February from the 2019-20 season.

The break will be staggered across two weeks, with five matches on the first weekend and five the following weekend.

The FA Cup fifth round will be moved to midweek to accommodate the break, with replays being scrapped at that stage.

The Football Association described it as “a significant moment for English football” that “will greatly benefit club and country”.

“It’s no secret that we have a very congested fixture calendar and over recent years we have been working with the whole game to find a solution,” said FA chief executive Martin Glenn.

“As we head into summer international tournaments in the future we are sure that this mid-season break will prove to be a valuable addition for our players.”

All three divisions of the English Football League (EFL) will remain unchanged, with a full programme of fixtures taking place on each of the weekends where there is a break.

World Cup 2018 Ultimate XI: Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo lead; David De Gea in goal

A fan poll with over half a million combined votes in English, Spanish and Portuguese for the final result, we have completed 4-1-2-3 formation of the best players that Russia has to offer.

Here is our XI.

Our Ultimate XI is quite an impressive team. SportBaze

Position: Goalkeeper
Country/club: Spain/Manchester United
Percentage of the fan vote: 60%
ESPN No. 1 votes: 20
International appearances: 27
World Cup appearances: 0

At the age of 27, David De Gea is set to appear in his first World Cup. He was on the bench for the disaster of 2014, when defending champions Spain were knocked out in the group stages, as Iker Casillas played twice and Pep Reina once. This time around, De Gea is the undisputed No. 1 in world football with a string of personal awards behind him. Quite simply, nobody is better: Manuel Neuer (Germany) was second with 21 percent but didn't come close in the fan vote.

Position: Right-back
Country/club: Germany/Bayern Munich
Percentage of the fan vote: 43%
ESPN No. 1 votes: 4
International appearances:
World Cup appearances: 0

No World Cup appearances, but Kimmich has never done anything other than win in his 10 World Cup qualifying games. The 23-year-old may not have landed the spot here but for an injury to Brazil's Dani Alves, but he was pushed all the way by Dani Carvajal of Spain, who has also struggled with injury before the tournament and got more Spanish-language votes than the German but finished with 37 percent. If this were a real XI, Kimmich's versatility might well come in handy.

Position: Centre-back
Country/club: Germany/Bayern Munich
Percentage of the fan vote: 17%
ESPN No. 1 votes: 8
International appearances: 63
World Cup appearances: 6 (W5, D1, L0)

Having made his international debut in 2010, Hummels has only played at one World Cup in 2014. But it was a good one and he can claim an undefeated record at the tournament to date. The Bayern Munich centre-back was something of a surprise choice in this XI, but he finished behind Sergio Ramos in second place, a few percent ahead of Gerard Pique. Now he seems to have overcome his injury issues, Germany are reaping the rewards.

Position: Centre-back
Country/club: Spain/Real Madrid
Percentage of the fan vote: 45%
ESPN No. 1 votes: 16
International appearances: 151
World Cup appearances: 13 (W9, D0, L4)

Ramos may not be everyone's cup of tea but his aggression and passion to win every tackle makes him one of the best in the business. His hot streak has seen him land 24 red cards in his club career, but he has never been sent off in a FIFA competition. His Spain defensive partner Gerard Pique didn't make the cut for this XI, while Hummels was the next best. But Ramos came out on top.

Position: Left-back
Country/club: Brazil/Real Madrid
Percentage of the fan vote: 72%
ESPN No. 1 votes: 16
International appearances: 52
World Cup appearances: 6 (W3, D2, L1)

Nobody came close to matching the Brazilian left-back/winger -- in fact, he got 98 percent of the ESPN Brasil fan vote. His trademark runs down the flank make him just as tough an opponent in attack as they do in defence, but his nearest competitor, Spain's Jordi Alba was a long way behind in the fan vote too at 16 percent. Marcelo has only played in one World Cup (which ended rather badly after a 7-1 defeat to Germany) so will be well motivated to improve his record in Russia.

Position: Defensive midfielder
Country/club: France/Chelsea
Percentage of the fan vote: 42%
ESPN No. 1 votes: 14
International appearances: 23
World Cup appearances: 0

Just three years ago, few people had ever heard of Kante when he signed for Leicester from Caen for a measly £5.6m -- certainly not France coach Didier Deschamps. However, after winning the Premier League back-to-back with the Foxes and Chelsea, collecting multiple personal awards, he made his national debut in 2016. Now one of the finest defensive midfielders in world football, his stamina sets him apart from the rest and the fan vote certainly agreed as Casemiro (21 percent boosted by winning the ESPN Brasil vote) and Sergio Busquets (16 percent) were left in his wake.

Position: Midfielder
Country/club: Belgium/Manchester City
Percentage of the fan vote: 44%
ESPN No. 1 votes: 16
International appearances: 60
World Cup appearances: 4 (W3, D0, L1)

It has been quite a few years since De Bruyne was deemed not good enough by Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and sent on loan to the Bundesliga. After Man City snapped him up for £55m in 2015, he has become one of the world's best attacking midfielders and his vision, passing and eye for goal mark him out against his peers. An overwhelming 44 percent of the fan vote. The only question is whether he can replicate his City form for Belgium.

Position: Midfielder
Country/club: Germany/Real Madrid
Percentage of the fan vote: 14%
ESPN No. 1 votes: 5
International appearances: 82
World Cup appearances: 11 (W9, D1, L1)

A quick look at a few things that Kroos has won over the past few years should be enough to satisfy anyone with doubts over his place in this XI. Three Bundesliga titles, one La Liga, four Champions Leagues in six years and, of course, the 2014 World Cup. The midfielder oozes class. It's incredible to think that Bayern only sold him to Real Madrid for €30m as his contract was running down. His place in the XI was a close run thing with club teammate Luka Modric (11 percent) and a Spanish-language led charge for Andres Iniesta (9 percent) not quite doing enough.

Position: Right Forward
Country/club: Portugal/Real Madrid
Percentage of the fan vote: 24%
ESPN No. 1 votes: 4
International appearances: 149
World Cup appearances: 13 (W5, D4, L4)

Three goals in 13 matches at a World Cup doesn't do the No. 7 justice and he will be looking to right that wrong in Russia. He helped Portugal to a famous Euro 2016 win, but has tended to struggle in the biggest event of all since making his tournament debut in 2006. Neymar (8 percent) and Mohamed Salah (7 percent) were closest to upsetting the natural order of things and claiming a place in the XI, but it was never a realistic possibility.

Position: Left Forward
Country/club: Argentina/Barcelona
Percentage of the fan vote: 45%
ESPN No. 1 votes: 18
International appearances: 124
World Cup appearances: 15 (W11, D2, L2)

The undisputed No. 1, and it was only really ever going to be a battle between him and Ronaldo for the forward spots. The pain of 2014's final will still haunt the Argentine genius. Messi has five goals in his 15 matches at a World Cup, dating back to 2006, but has never lifted the trophy. In the shadow of the legendary Diego Maradona, he will be looking to add the missing piece of the puzzle to his trophy cabinet.

Position: Striker
Country/club: Poland/Bayern Munich
Percentage of the fan vote: 21%
ESPN No. 1 votes: 7
International appearances: 93
World Cup appearances: 0

Both Harry Kane and Luis Suarez got more No. 1 votes from our ESPN regions, but they missed out on the fan vote by only a few thousand. In total, this was the closest of all the positions as Lewandowski finished with 21 percent of the vote, Kane with 20 percent (just 400 odd votes behind), Suarez on 19 percent and Greizmann on 18 percent. Lewandowski has never played in a World Cup before, but if he wants to quit Bayern Munich then he will have the biggest stage on which to perform.

Position: Manager
Team: Germany
Percentage of the fan vote: 59%
ESPN No. 1 votes: 18
International games: 160
World Cup games: 14 (W11, D1, L2)
